Playing Space Merchant Realms this morning. Logged in, dropped by the bank to pick up some cash and headed off to my favourite money-making trade route. And guess what. Some little whatsit mined it!

Thankfully there weren’t many, and I’ve got into the habit of flying around with the maximum allowable weapons load I can have and still get federal protection, so I made short work of the things, then made some money and bought some mines of my own, as a kind of present for the other guy who trades that route.

Maybe if I get some more turns before he comes there again I can put a few more mines down. I like mines. But only when they belong to my alliance.

Went to the Exchange bar and diner place near Sainsbury’s on Castle Boulevard. Ate a burger and some nachos and some corn on the cob. Feel full.

Ninja and Sax each ate a burger at least twice as big as mine, and don’t feel full at all. I fail to understand how this is possible, but I guess I’ll just have to accept it.

On the strictly bright side, it was very tasty

Need something else to drink now though.

Done a lot of fiddling this morning.

• moved blog to root of domain
• installed RandomLine plugin for MovableType
• used RandomLine plugin to implement changing header images (picks a new one on a per-page basis each time a page is rebuilt, i.e. a new entry is posted or a comment made)

Still stuff to do of course, including resurrecting the old content of the static site that was worth preserving — or maybe it should all just go in the pan. Whatever. For the static pages I’ll probably implement changing headers in PHP, so they change on view instead of on rebuild, as static pages don’t get altered anywhere near as often.

That’s most of the important stuff for the new look done I think… let me know if I’ve missed anything out and I’ll see about getting to it.

As before, this is an XHTML/CSS2 layout, but I hear it renders well on IE6 on Windows. This may be because it uses far, far simpler code than the previous layout (and, in my opinion, looks a lot nicer).

So here we are with another new look. You may notice that several templates are hideously incomplete. I’ll get around to those eventually. Comments are next on the list, being the next most important I’m sure.
