I ran the UT2003 benchmarking utility at 1024×768.

It said:
Flyby: 144.29528
Botmatch: 54.914856

Then I ran it at 1280×960 (for some reason the utility doesn’t support 1280×1024, my LCD’s native resolution, although the game itself does)

It said:
Flyby: 139.063522
Botmatch: 54.696194

And how, I hear you ask, did I achieve this?

Easy! Take one GeForce3 Ti200 card, throw it away, and replace with one shiny new ATi Radeon 9800 Pro with 128MB of memory.

And remember to turn the detail levels up to full - with accompanying ‘Holy shit!’ exclamation by the announcer. It doesn’t slow it down a bit.

Maybe I should try turning on anti-aliasing. But at that res, you don’t need it!
