Mmmm nice weekend

Ate too much Chinese food as usual. Played with the cat. Saw Scary Movie 3. Funny, not exactly brilliant, and probably not as enjoyable if you’ve seen the first two. Since I haven’t seen the first two, I was able to enjoy it even around the jokes that fell completely flat — or maybe some of them only appeal to Americans? I don’t know, but nobody laughed at some things that were clearly intended to be jokes.

Discovered snow on the ground when we got out of the cinema, that was a bit of a surprise, but it was extremely localised thankfully.

Booked an eye test for Saturday. Support on-call stuff for work starts this week, so I’m on backup this evening, primary on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday! I guarentee that the moment we do actually get a critical support issue that needs to be put through to me is the moment my mobile phone battery decides to ‘do a Nokia’.

I have to get SimCity 4: Rush Hour.

I also have to get a cat.

Weekend

Away for the weekend as of about ten minutes from now… going to visit Matt and Pumba. Available on mobile phone if anybody needs to get in touch, and I might check my e-mail once or twice.

Then again, I might not. Playing with the cat can take up a lot of attention.

The joy of work

So of course today I got a lift in to the office with Mum, who’s going off to Newmarket to get the car sorted out. All very well and good - except that I get to the office at twenty past eight, which is abominably early although wouldn’t be too bad if I actually knew the alarm code.

Because I daren’t unlock the door in case I set the alarm off, which I most definitely would do, I’m sitting on the rather convenient armchairs on the landing, being very thankful I have with me my Powerbook and that our wireless network extends beyond the boundaries of the office, and that my Powerbook is set up to access it.

Been getting strange looks from the people who work in the office across the hall though, who come huffing and puffing their way up the stairs… anybody would think they’ve just climbed up to the fifteenth floor, rather than the second.

‘Wow this is a very informative site!’

‘Love your website!’

‘Brilliant site, I’ll come back!’

That last sounds rather like a threat, doesn’t it?

Bow down and give thanks for MT-Blacklist. But I’m still switching to a custom blogging system when I get around to writing or adapting one.
